Pendaratan ini dilakukan dalam 2 fase: pendaratan 24.000 tentara Inggris, Amerika, dan Kanada tepat setelah tengah malam dan pendaratan amfibi pasukan Sekutu di pantai Perancis jam 6.30 pagi.[4]
