Oxford English Dictionary

Oxford English Dictionary (OED), diterbitkan oleh Oxford University Press (OUP), merupakan kamus lengkap bahasa Inggris, OED ini tidak menyinggung Oxford Dictionary of English satu volume, sebelumnya New Oxford Dictionary of English, tahun 1998.

Tanggal 30 November 2005, Oxford English Dictionary berisi 301.100 entri utama. Melengkapi kata utama setiap entri, terdapat 157.000 kombinasi dan derivasi tercetak tebal; 169.000 frasa dan kombinasi tercetak miring; 616.500 bentuk kata secara keseluruhan, termasuk 137.000 pengucapan; 249.300 etimologi; 577.000 catatan kaki; dan 2.412.000 kutipan penggunaan. Jilid terakhir kamus ini, edisi cetakan lengkap (Edisi Kedua, 1989) dicetak dalam 20 volume, terdiri dari 291.500 entri dalam 21.730 halaman.

Kebijakan resmi OED ditujukan pada meletakkan penggunaan dan varian kata dalam semua bentuk lampau dan sekarang Bahasa Inggris, di seluruh dunia.
