Oxford University Press (OUP) adalah percetakan universitas terbesar di dunia.^[1] Pers ini adalah departemen dari University of Oxford dan dipimpin oleh 15 akademika yang ditunjuk oleh Wakil Kanselir yang dikenal sebagai Delegasi Penerbitan. Mereka dipimpin oleh Sekretaris Delegasi yang menjabat sebagai pimpinan utama OUP dan perwakilan utamanya di lembaga universitas lain. Oxford University telah menggunakan sistem sejenis untuk mengawasi Press sejak abad ke-17.^[2]

Buku-buku yang diterbitkan oleh Oxford memiliki Nomor Buku Standar Internasional yang diawali dengan 0-19 dan menjadikan Press sebagai satu dari sekumpulan kecil penerbit yang memiliki nomor identifikasi dua digit dalam sistem ISBN. Berdasarkan perjanjian internal, digit pertama nomor edisi individu (setelah 0-19-) menandakan divisi penerbitannya, misal: 3 untuk musik (sebelum ISMN ditetapkan); 5 untuk kantornya di New York; 8 untuk terbitan Clarendon Press.
